HERE'S ANOTHER THOUGHT ON THAT..
Less than 10% of Men that suffer from Fibromyalgia seek a diagnosis!
The reasons for that are eyeopening.
While not universal, males are more stoic about their discomfort and less prone to communicate health concerns. Men may believe they are "not supposed to complain about pain," which may delay or prevent fibromyalgia diagnosis. According to a poll published in the American Journal of Men's Health, guys were more likely to wait up to six months before consulting their primary care doctor with fibromyalgia. One cited cause is a widespread social attitude that a guy must appear strong and "tough it out." I waited six years or more, never-mind months before seeking, or accepting my diagnosis.
In fact, I now feel that this mindset is the polar opposite. A better response as a "Man" would be to tackle the issue and seek a solution.
